About Us Gummi World is a fast-growing nutraceutical manufacturer in Chandler, Arizona, specializing in high-quality custom gummy formulations for leading brands globally. We operate in an FDA-regulated, cGMP and HACCP-compliant facility running 24 hours a day. Our Maintenance team is the backbone of our production floor — without reliable equipment, nothing ships. If you take pride in keeping machinery running and solving hard problems, you belong here.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all production, packaging, cooking, and facility equipment at Gummi World operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. This individual performs preventative maintenance, diagnoses and resolves mechanical and electrical failures, supports new equipment installation and qualification, and partners with production teams to minimize downtime. The role spans three levels over time but we are currently looking for a Technician I — each requiring progressively deeper technical expertise, independence, and leadership. All levels are expected to be hands-on, safety-first, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused every shift.
Key Competencies at Level I:
Basic mechanical aptitude — hand tools, fasteners, lubrication, basic inspections
Follows preventative maintenance schedules under supervision
Performs basic equipment cleaning, adjustments, and part replacement with guidance
Learns and follows LOTO, GMP, and safety procedures
Assists senior technicians on troubleshooting and installations
Completes work orders and maintenance logs accurately in NetSuite
Builds foundational knowledge of conveyor systems, packaging equipment, and production line machinery
Key Competencies at Level I:
Independently troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures
Reads and interprets schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&ID drawings
Performs PLC diagnostics and basic program navigation (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
Maintains and repairs conveyor systems, depositors, cooling tunnels, cooking kettles, and packaging lines
Performs electrical diagnostics: motor controls, VFDs, sensors, junction boxes
Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance on all production, packaging, cooking, and facility equipment.
Inspect machinery daily for wear, misalignment, fluid leaks, unusual noise, temperature, or vibration — escalate findings immediately.
Troubleshoot and repair failures across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, automation, PLC, and PID-controlled systems.
Ensure all equipment operates within manufacturer specifications and Gummi World production standards.
Perform precision repairs on nutraceutical-grade equipment including steam-jacketed cooking kettles, depositors, cooling tunnels, demolding systems, conveyors, filling lines, cappers, labelers, sealers, and packaging machinery.
Production Support
Respond to production breakdown calls quickly and decisively to minimize downtime and restore line output.
Assist production teams with machine setup, changeovers, and in-shift operational troubleshooting.
Communicate equipment status, repair progress, and return-to-service timelines clearly to production supervisors.
Support shift handoffs with accurate equipment status updates and open work order communication.
Installation, Commissioning & Qualifications
Assist with or lead installation, alignment, and commissioning of new manufacturing and packaging equipment.
Inspect newly delivered machinery to verify it meets operational, safety, and cGMP standards before go-live.
Execute and document Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) protocols for FDA-regulated equipment.
Support facility upgrades, construction projects, and infrastructure improvements as directed.
Safety & GMP Compliance
Comply fully with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for every piece of equipment before any maintenance, cleaning, or adjustment task — no exceptions.
Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, cGMP requirements, and food safety standards.
Ensure all repaired and returned equipment is safe, clean, and GMP-compliant before releasing to production.
Educate production team members on safe and correct equipment operation.
Documentation & NetSuite
Document all maintenance activities, parts used, labor hours, and corrective actions in NetSuite and the CMMS accurately and in real time.
Maintain complete equipment service histories; identify and report recurring failure patterns to management.
Complete all required maintenance logs, safety checklists, sanitation records, and qualification documents.
Provide data-driven recommendations for equipment replacement, upgrades, or PM schedule adjustments.
